GCI Outdoor has partnered with sports store Dick’s Sporting Goods to design and deliver the new Freedom Rocker, a portable folding rocking chair. Every Freedom Rocker sold in 2020 will benefit America’s veterans. GCI is donating $1 per chair to both organizations K9s for Warriors and Homes for Our Troops, with a total contribution of up to $50,000 for each charity.
This patriotic Freedom Rocker serves as reminder to celebrate and honor our veterans and active service members. Based off of the Freestyle Rocker, the Freedom Rocker is designed with a patented Spring-Action Rocking Technology™, allowing users to rock smoothly even when enjoying time outdoors. Perfect for camping, campfires, or watching Fourth of July fireworks, the rocker features a carry handle, beverage holder and mesh backrest for added comfort and extra convenience. Designed with GCI’s patented EAZY-FOLD™ Technology, the rock can fold down flat, is easy to open/close and supports up to 250 pounds.
K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of service dogs to military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Military Sexual Trauma. They provide each warrior with a service canine, equipment, training, certification, seminars, legal instruction, vet care, housing, home cooked meals, unconditional love and listening, and a life-time of wrap-around services. The K9s program is 100% free for the veteran. As of April 2020, they have paired over 622 service dogs with veterans.
Homes For Our Troops is an organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Homes for Our Troops builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.
